LEESU 2025 Internship: Monitoring of greywater for better reuse

by Martin Seidl - published on

Background

Implementation of innovative technical strategies to consume less natural resources, such as water and energy, is necessary to move toward more sustainable livings. It calls also for individual behavior adaptation in order to use the available resources more effectively. We propose therefore to study the gray water recycling of low-polluting applications like baths and showers as part of the "eautonome "project for applications that don’t require high water quality, like washing machines or toilets.

Objective

The internship will have to answer in particular the technical questions of on-line data collection and processing, necessary to identify pollution fluxes, but also to tackle the data feedback to consumers using displays to modify their consumption behavior.

The candidate

European (CEE) Master’s student (M2) or engineering school student, specialized in water treatment with knowledge of on-line data acquisition, OR specialized in data engineering / metrology with knowledge of environmental data. First experience with field work, data acquisition and processing, knowledge of data processing tools such as Matlab, Python, etc., basic knowledge of environmental chemistry, intellectual rigor and capacity to work in a team.

Traineeship
