2. Research topics

  • Study of plastic pollution : Assessment of microplastics in wastewater treatment plant – occurrence, removal and fate
  • Ecotoxicology : As part of my PhD study, toxicological impacts of microplastics from wastewater treatment plant on aquatic organisms will be examined.
  • Environmental technology : I am studying the efficiency of different current technologies in wastewater treatment regarding microplastic removal

3. Research in progress

My thesis, supervised by Bruno Tassin, Johnny Gasperi and Rachid Dris, is entitled : « Microplastics in wastewater treatment plant – occurrence, removal and fate ».

This PhD study is a part of the LimnoPlast project (H2020-MSCA).

In the frame of my PhD, I want to establish a first rough mass balance of microplastic at the scale of Paris Conurbation integrating :

  • sewer network,
  • releases from sewer by combined sewer overflow,
  • wastewater treatment effluents and
  • sludge fluxes as well.
